Product Description
Be tough on the germs in your pool, but gentle on your skin with the Bestway® Hydrogenic™ Saltwater Chlorinator. Ideal for pools with water capacities up to 56,775 L (15,000 gal.) with a filter pump flow rate of at least 1,249 L (330 gal.), simply insert the salt and the system will produce 12 grams of chlorine per hour for the perfect ratio of saltwater and chlorine. Plus, the saltwater chlorinator also includes 50, 3-in-1 test strips and 25 salt water test strips so you can always measure the chemical and salt balances of your pool water to keep it safe and clean.

What does it mean when the display shows 00?
Close Me
At the end of the cycle, the display shows "00". At this time, the chlorinator will automatically enter the standby mode.
What type of salt should I use?
Close Me
Use only sodium chloride (NaCl) that is at least 99.8% pure. It is also acceptable to use water conditioning salt pellets (the compressed forms of evaporated salt), but it will take a longer time to dissolve. The purer the salt, the better the life and performance of the chlorinator. Do not use iodized or yellow (yellow prussiate of soda) colored salt. For further details, please consult your salt supplier.
IMPORTANT: The Recommended Pool Working Time Set table in the manual is based on the use of 99.8% purity of sodium chloride (NaCl). The working time may vary when using sodium chloride of lower purity.
When using the Bestway Flowclear chlorinator after testing the water quality, why is there an insufficient quantity of chlorine?
Close Me
To have the necessary quantity of chlorine in the water, follow these instructions:
1. Use the cover when the chlorinator is in use to avoid the evaporation of the chlorine.
2. Increase the operation time.
3. Check the electrolytic cell and clean if necessary. See the FAQ on how to clean the electrolytic cell in Bestway Flowclear chlorinator.

Maintenance
How do I clean the electrolytic cell of the Chlorinator?
Close Me
In order to guarantee the best performance of the product, clean the electrolytic cell.
We recommend opening and checking the electrolytic cell every month. Follow the below steps:
- Unplug the Chlorinator.
- Put the stopper plug/close the connection valve to stop the water flow.
- Unscrew the 2 gears positioned on the top of the electrolytic cell.
- Disconnect the plug on the top of the electrolytic cell.
- Pull the electrolytic cell out.
- Submerge the electrolytic cell in a solution of 50% water/50% vinegar for 3 hours or check with your pool dealer the suitable chemical product. Be sure to avoid chemical product that can damage the Titanium plate.
- Clean the electrolytic cell with tap water.
How do I use the Bestway® Test Strips?
Close Me
Test Strips test “Free Chlorine”, “pH” and “Total Alkalinity” levels.
1. Dip one strip into water, no more than 46 cm (18”) below the water surface and remove it immediately.
2. Hold the strip level for 15 seconds to avoid reactant dripping from one test pad to another.
NOTE: Do not shake off excess water.
3. Compare results immediately by lining up the 3 test pads to the easy color match chart on the bottle.
How much salt should I add in my pool the first time I set it up and when I change the water ?
Close Me
The optimum salt level in the pool water is 3,000ppm ( 3g/L ); you can find the specifications in the Owner’s Manual.
Is it necessary to add salt during the usage period after having added the initial quantity?
Close Me
It is not necessary to add more salt if you have already added the specified amount. Salt loss is only due to physical removal of pool water. Salt cannot be lost due to evaporation. The only time you need to add salt is when the level of chlorine tested by the BESTWAY test strips is below 2ppm and the operating time is as stated in Table 2 and Table 5 in the Flowclear Chlorinator Owner’s Manual.
Why is the LED above the on/off button displaying red in the Flowclear chlorinator ?
Close Me
When the LED above the on/off button becomes red, this means that the chlorinator is in power saving mode. Press any button to view the status of the LED lights.
