Can I set up my spa on a heated floor?

We don't suggest setting up the spa on a heated floor. This will create a problem and reduce the lifespan of the PVC, since the PVC expands when it comes in contact with hot surfaces. This will also reduce the performance and lifespan of the internal components of the spa heater.
Can I use an extension cable to connect Bestway's Spa Heater to the power outlet?

Never use an extension cable to connect the spa heater to the power outlet. The spa heater must be connected directly to an earthed power outlet and able to support the power consumption of the specification in compliance with the warning label when the heating function is activated.
How can I set up the Power Saving functions in my spa?

To set up the power saving timer, follow these steps:
First step: press the power saving button and the display will start flashing, and the LED heating time will start flashing.
Second step: use the temperature adjustment buttons to set the heating time range from 1 hour to 999 hours.
Third step: when the desired time is set, push the power saving button again. The display will start flashing and the LED waiting time will start flashing.
Fourth step: use the temperature adjustment buttons to set the waiting time range from 1 hour to 999 hours.
Fifth step: when the desired time is set, push the power saving button again. The LED waiting time will light up steadily and the function will start when the function is activated. After setting, the screen will flash the current temperature and time alternately.
IMPORTANT: this operation is not an automatic cycle. After the heating time finishes, the function will end. If the customer wants the same for the day after, they have to repeat the above steps for the new cycle.
IMPORTANT: the power saving function will reset in the follow conditions:
1. The customer pushes the power saving button for more than 3 seconds
2. The pump is unplugged
3. The heating button is pushed
4. If any error codes appear
During the power saving function, the customer can use all other functions, such as massage and filtration. These functions will shut down as soon as the power saving function starts the heating function.
How do I perform the test with PRCD?

3. Press the "TEST" button, and the indicator light will turn off.
4. Press the "RESET" button, and the indicator light will turn on.

What are the best conditions to use the spa pump?

For safety reasons, Bestway's spa heater should always be plugged into an earthed power outlet. The power outlet must be high quality and able to support the specification in compliance with the warning label. When the spa heater is heating the water, if the power cord and the socket become hot, your power outlet may not meet the quality requested and may melt. To be sure that your power outlet is compliant with requested power, please consult your electrician.
You should never attempt to run the pump from an extension lead or spur.
Bestway's spa cannot be operated when the outside temperature drops below 6°C (42.8ºF).
What can I use to protect the bottom of my liner?

We suggest to always position a Bestway floor protector between the ground and the bottom of the liner.
What happens if the pump's connectors are not levelled with spa connectors?

One characteristic of PVC is that it changes shape, which is normal. You can elevate the pump with wood or another type of insulated material to bring the pump’s adapters level with the spa’s adapters.

Do I need to disassemble my spa for the winter?

The spas equipped with Freeze Shield™ can be used all year. Read the instruction manual carefully to use the Freeze Shield™ system properly to avoid any damage to the spa. For the models without the Freeze Shield™ system, we don't recommend using the spa when the outdoor temperature is lower than 10 degrees. Using the spa when the outdoor temperature is below 10 degrees can freeze the water and damage the internal components of the spa heater and the material of the liner.
How can I attach or detach the spa heater ?

To attach or detach the spa heater from the PVC liner, you'll need to inflate the liner to the correct pressure and place the spa heater in front of the spa in correspondence with the two or three connection points. Screw the gears to fix the spa heater to the liner and unscrew it when you need to remove the spa heater from the liner.
IMPORTANT:
1. Maybe the connection point is not perfectly aligned. You can move the PVC material a little bit in order to tighten the gear.
2. Before detaching the spa heater from the liner, be sure that the stopper caps are in position to avoid water flowing out from the spa.
3. The sealing of the stopper caps are not perfect and some water can flow out. This is normal, and the spa heater and the PVC liner must be together at all times. The products are not designed to work separately.
How can I deflate the liner using the new deflation adapter included in the set?

After detaching the pump from the liner and draining all water, be sure to completely dry the liner. For a faster and more complete deflation, please follow these steps:
First step: screw the new deflation valve to the air outlet of the spa. The air outlet is the biggest gear on the spa.
Second step: screw the inflation hose to the deflation valve.
Third step: connect the inflation hose to the spa.
Fourth step: start the massage function. The deflation system will suck all of the air in the spa out.
Fifth step: when the spa is completely deflated, stop the massage function on the spa and your spa is ready to store taking up minimum space.
IMPORTANT: the deflation function needs approximately 4 to 5 minutes to completely deflate the spa.
How can I drain my spa with drain valve?

If your spa is equipped with the drain pipe, follow these steps:
1. Power off the pump
2. Disconnect the pump and the spa pool, and let the water flow out from the 2 pipes or use the hose adaptor to connect the garden hose to drain the water.
3. When water level becomes very low, open the plug on the bottom of the liner and let water drain from the bottom valve.
How can I drain my spa with the drain pipe?

If your spa is equipped with the drain pipe, to drain the water, connect the garden hose to the drain pipe located on the bottom of the spa liner. Open the cap on the bottom of the pool and the water will flow out.
How can I remove the mold growing on the surface of the PVC liner and inflatable lid during the winter?

This is usually caused by the liner being damp when put away for the winter. Mold can be cleaned using a diluted liquid soap or the Clearwater Scale and Stain Remover. This product will not harm the liner in any way.
IMPORTANT: before winterizing your spa and inflatable lid, leave it deflated in the sun for half a day and store in dry place. This will prevent the growth of the mildew on the surface during the winter.

Can Bestway's spa heater operate for 24 hours a day for 7 days?

In order to reduce power consumption, we don't suggest operating the spa 24 hours for 7 days. For the correct performance of the filtration system, 8 hours a day is more than enough and with the correct chemical maintenance, it will keep the water clean for a long time.
IMPORTANT: the heaters produced before 2020 have the hibernation function which, after 72 hours will automatically stop all functions, and the display will show END.
To reactivate the normal function of the spa heater, it is enough to push any button on the control panel.
Can I leave the remote control in the water?

The remote control is not designed to be used in the water. If it is accidentally submerged, remove it and dry it immediately.
Can I leave the spa pump outside when it is raining?

The Bestway spa heater can stay outside during rainy days. Be sure that the socket and the PRCD are located in an covered area and the socket is plugged into a power outlet for outdoor use.
If the outlet is not designed for outdoor use, it may cause serious damages to the spa heater or create a dangerous situation for the user.
IMPORTANT: we don't suggest to connect the spa heater to the power source or to enter into the spa water when it is thundering or lightning.
Can I use my Spa indoor?

Be aware of these special requirements if you install the spa indoors.
- Humidity is a natural side effect of spa use that could cause damage to property without proper precaution. Determine the effects of moisture on exposed wood, structural materials, or surrounding objects in the proposed location.
- To minimize these effects in an indoor environment, provide plenty of ventilation to the selected area. Consult an expert to confirm the installation area is properly ventilated prior to use.
- To avoid home or property damage, only install the spa in an area with an adequate drainage system. Water may flow out of the spa during filling, draining, or when in use.
Does Bestway's spa heater have any kind of automatic power saving mode?

At this moment, Bestway's spa heater doesn't have an automatic power saving system. When the power saving function ends, it must be set up again if you would like to use it again.
How does the heating system work when I set a specific temperature?

Before activating the heating function, you have to set the temperature. When the heating system is activated, the heating button and the filtration button will turn red. The filtration system starts, and the heating system starts heating the water.
When it reaches the set temperature, the heating system stops heating, and the indicator light turns from red to green.
When the water temperature is approximately 2 degrees lower than the set temperature, the heating system will start heating again, and the indicator light will become red again. If the filtration function is turned off, the heating system will stop. If the heating function is turned off, the filtration fuction will continue to work.
If I replace the spa heater or the remote control, how do I pair them up again?

You have to pair them again according to the following instructions:1.Connect the pump to a power source and press the reset button on the GFCI.2.Press the button on the control panel for 3 seconds. Then the indicator will start to flash, and the pump has entered the pairing mode.3.Press the button on the remote control for 3 seconds, and the LCD display on the remote control will show "PIR".After several seconds, it will display "PAS". The remote control is ready to use. NOTE: If the pairing operation did not finish within 20 seconds, it must be restarted.
If I set a timer to perform the filtration, does it perform this function every day automatically?

On the market we have two version of spas. The version produced before 2018 has the hybernation system. It will stop automatically if any function is activated and there is no activity on the control panel for 72 hours. The message END will appear on the display of the control panel. In order to cancel the END message, push any button on the control panel.
In the second version, produced after 2018, the hybernation system has been cancelled.
If the spa is off, why won't the remote control turn on?

What can I do if the massage is not working properly?

If the massage function is activated and the massage doesn't work properly, follow these instructions:
1.Stop the function and wait two to three hours during the cold time of the day.
2.Then, push the massage button again to restart the massage system.
The pump is equipped with a protection that will cut the power to the blower in case the temperature reaches critical level in order to save the motor. This generally happens if the pump is exposed directly to sunlight.
IMPORTANT: the massage function has a 30 minute auto shut-off feature to save power. To restart the function, push the button again.
What causes my guarantee to break?

What is the difference between the heavy duty repair patch and the underwater adhesive repair patch?

Starting in 2017, all repair patches included in the sets are underwater adhesive repair patches. All of the ones produced before 2017 were heavy duty repair patches. Using the underwater repair patch is easy, and it is not necessary to drain the water from your pool.
What is the functionality and advantage of using the power saving function?

The power saving function was created to optimize the usage of the Bestway spa. You can decide to start the heating system later in the day in order to have the desired temperature and enjoy the spa massage when you need it, instead of keeping the heating function on all the time and wasting energy.
Example: if you need your spa at 40°C (104ºF) tomorrow evening, you would just follow these steps:
First step: open the filtration system and after one minute you should see the real water temperature (e.g. 18℃).
Second step: if the set temperature is 40℃ (104ºF), the difference between actual temperature and set temperature is 22℃ (71ºF). Since the temperature increase per hour is 2℃ (35ºF), you need to start heating the water 11 hours before using it.
If is 6 PM and you want to use the spa tomorrow evening at 6 PM, this means the spa heater has to start heating at 7 AM, so set the waiting time to 13 hours and heating time to 11 hours.
In this case, the power saving function saves more than 13 hours of power (more than 26KW) because without this function you would have been forced to start the spa in the evening and waste a lot of energy and money.

Why does the air massage function shut off after 30 minutes of operation?

Bestway's spa heater has a power saving function and a 30 minute "auto shut-off" for the massage system. To restart the massage function, push the massage button again.
IMPORTANT: the control panel will lock after five minutes without operation. Push the lock/unlock button to restart normal operation of the control panel.
Why does the pump show the message END on the control panel?

Why is the liner leather cover bigger than the liner?

This problem normally occurs when a new inflatable liner has been purchased or replaced under warranty. New inflatable liner needs time to expand before it reaches the correct size. The rate at which the liner expands depends on the ambient air temperature and how often the water inside your spa is heated. Please be assured that this is perfectly normal and we have never had a liner that has not expanded to the correct size.
IMPORTANT: to inflate the inflatable liner, use the spa heater and the provided inflation hose. Don't use air pressure machines or other equipment that can over-inflate the PVC liner and drastically reduce the lifespan of your spa.

Can I leave the spa in the sun?

You can leave the spa in the sun, but be sure that you are using the cover when the spa is not in use.
Using the spa cover to avoid damage to the top surface of the spa pool:
The material of the spa liner is PVC, and inside the chamber, there is the air. In the sun, the PVC can become soft and increase the air pressure. This can cause deformation of the top ring. Using the top cover will avoid this situation. To inflate the spa, wait until the evening when the temperature is low. These simple operations will improve the life of your spa.
Using the spa cover to improve the quality of the water:
The spa cover prevents the water from being contaminated by the external dust.
Can I use salt water?

Do not use saltwater to fill the pool. The salt can damage the internal component and the surface of the material if used in high percentage. The safe concentration of salt that can be used in the spa water is 3000 ppm (3gr per liter of water). If the percentage of salt exceeds this concentration, the water must be changed in order to avoid damage to the internal mechanical part of the spa pump.
How can I clean the housing and filter cartridge in my spa?

To clean the housing and the filter cartridge, follow the below steps:
1. Switch off all functions of the spa, such as filtration and heating.
2. Unscrew the filter set inside the spa, and open the filter set outside of the spa, in order to be sure that when you open the filter set the debris inside doesn't fall into the spa.
3. Take out the filter cartridge and rinse it out with a garden hose and put it back in the filter housing to reuse it.
However, if the filter cartridge remains soiled and discolored, the filter cartridge should be replaced.
How can I dry my Spa Pump (Air jet and Hydro jet)?

1. Reverse the pump on the side of the connection, in order to eliminate all water inside
2. Attach the inflation hose to the Spa Pump
3. Plug into a wall socket and activate the PRCD/RCD/GFCI

How can I remove the filter housing?

Second step: using two hands, unscrew the filter housing from inside the spa pool.

Before winterizing the spa, it is better to perform a backwash of the internal pipes. The operation is very easy and takes a few minutes. Follow these steps to perform the back wash on your spa pump:
1. Detach the spa from the liner
2. Insert a garden hose to the upper small connection
3. Start the water with low pressure and backwash for two minutes
This operation will eliminate all residual dust deposits inside the pipe from the chemical or limestone present in your water.
IMPORTANT: don't perform the backwash into the big connection that is the AIR INLET. The pressure of the water can damage the gasket and the AIR PUMP.
How do I clean the PVC surface of the spa?

How do I keep water clean?

Bestway Spas are equipped with a filtration system including a cartridge. When activating the filtration function, the water passes through the cartridge which traps the debris. So, it’s important to keep it clean; it’s enough to remove it from the filter set and wash it with tap water. The cleaning frequency may vary depending on the use of the inflatable whirlpool and the water quality.
The filtration system removes all debris from the water, but to keep water clean, it is also necessary to perform the correct chemical treatment, using specific products, as chlorine, pH + / pH– and Antialgae.
The ideal values for a correct chemical balance of the water are as follows:
-the pH should be between 7,4 - 7,6
-the free chlorine should be between 1ppm and 3ppm
To verify these values, use the specific strips. This operation should be repeated periodically, depending on the frequency of use of the Spa and the outside temperature.
The cleaning of the bottom of the Spa must be done with dedicated vacuum cleaners which allow the removal of the debris deposited on the bottom of the liner, which couldn’t be trapped by using the filtration function of the pump.
How do I repair the different material of the spa?

Bestway's spas are produced with different material: PVC, Duraplus, and drop stitch material. The procedures to repair the materials are different. Follow the instructions on the instruction manual or the back of the provided repair patch.
How often should I change the water?

As per the international standards, the water without correct chemical performance should be changed about every 3 days. The advice is for safety reasons: if the customer performs the correct chemical treatment and the correct filtration time, the water can be used for long time. It depends on the frequency of use.
IMPORTANT: cover the pool liner with the cover and take a shower before using the products. Those will keep the water cleaner longer.
If I don't use the spa for 1 month, what can I do to keep water clean?

It is recommended to empty the spa. If this is not possible, we advise to carry out a chemical treatment of the water to avoid the formation of algae. In addition, we recommend using the cover to prevent leaves or other types of debris from collecting on the surface.
Is it possible to program the spa to automatically filter every day?

It is not possible to set the automatic cycle to filtrate the water, as the filtration must be started manually. The filtration system can be activated from your mobile phone if your pump has the Wi-Fi function.

1. Increase the filtration time.

3. The filter pump alone cannot eliminate all the bacteria in the water. The most important part to keeping the water clean is keeping the correct chemical balance. Check with your checmical dealer to get the correct quantity and type of chemicals to have the correct water maintenace.
What can I do if white flakes appear in the water?

The presence of white flakes in your water depends on the hardness of the water. Drain about 20 to 25% of the pool water and add fresh water to decrease the calcium hardness.
If the above operation doesn't solve the problem, contact your nearest chemical supplier to purchase the correct chemical to reduce the hardness of the water.

When do I need to use the reset button on the side of the spa heater?

The reset button is connected with a mechanical thermal switch that works when the water temperature in the spa is over 55 ℃ (131ºF), if the outside temperature is above 40, or the spa heater is exposed directly to sunlight. In case the thermal cut off intervenes, the display of the spa heater will show the alarm E08. This alarm can be reset following the below steps:
IMPORTANT: perform the following tests in a cooler time of the day.
First step: unplug the spa heater from the power outlet.
